On behalf of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce and Kent United Service Organizations (KUSO), I would like to publicly thank anyone and everyone that helped make the 18th Annual Kent Heritage Festival such a tremendous success. A number of dependable sources have stated that this year’s crowd was over 25,000 strong – who am I to refute the estimated number that made up the sea of humanity that converged upon downtown Kent in the span of just 14 hours.
The Festival runs solely on vendor fees and donations from sponsors. The planning committee volunteers countless hours coordinating Kent’s biggest community event, starting with monthly meetings in January. To try and thank everyone that was involved, would be an impossible task and I know I would unintentionally forget someone. However, without the assistance and guidance of City officials and administrators, as well as our sponsors, this year’s festival wouldn’t have been the success it was.
Most of all I’d like to thank the 25,000+ visitors that made downtown Kent their destination on Saturday and patronized the downtown businesses and the nearly 130 vendors who invested in booth space, as well as listened to the local, talented performers who entertained them throughout the day.
I hope the residents, neighbors, visitors and business owners of Kent enjoyed this year’s Kent Heritage Festival. Thanks again for all of your support, and helping to make Kent a great place to live, work, PLAY and do business!
