Development Corps 20th Anniversary Celebration and their award winning
float in the Kent Bicentennial Parade:
1st Place Best in the Show for their rendition of
Kents' history which trace the Mill Period 1806, the Canal Period 1840's
the Rail Road Period in the 1880's where Immigrants and African American
Migrated to Kent to work the rail road and the KSU period beginning
1910... with the Normal School... on a 16 wheeler flat bed.. We had
wooden replica's of each era represented with over 20 multi-racial
children on the float and parents walking along side the float.. Flags
of all the immigrants and African-Am...along with old glory - flew on
the AGW Train Replica. (following two pictures)
