Catch a Great Live Show at the Kent Stage!

 

The beautifully refurbished 600 seat, air-conditioned theatre located at 175 E. Main Street in Kent.

Kent "ON TRACK" Tour
Enjoy a unique dining experience at the Pufferbelly, Ltd. in the historic Kent Railway Depot (built in 1875).  The CSX Railroad mainline runs by the Pufferbelly along the scenic Cuyahoga River.  Then add a touch of nostalgia by visiting the Kent Historical Society located one block away on Water Street. Finish off the evening by strolling around the many specialty shops/pubs in the historic downtown or stroll along the
newly restored Cuyahoga River and River Edge Park.

 

 

“CASTAWAY IN PORTAGE” Tour

Start your day off with a fishing trip to Mogadore Reservoir. The Reservoir features a 1,000 acres of fishing water (electric motors only) and opportunities include Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, Crappies, Brown Bullhead, Yellow Perch, and an occasional Muskellunge. Or head east to West Brach State Park that boasts 2,350 acres of water (no horsepower restrictions). West Branch Reservoir fishing opportunities include Tiger Musky, Northern Pike, Striped Bass, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Yellow Perch, White and Black Crappie, Bluegill, Bullhead, and Channel Catfish. Catch & release or a slow fishing day?  Stop by the Brimfield Steakhouse or the Rusty Nail for a great fish dinner!

 

"FASHIONABLY FUN" Tour
Visit the K.S.U. Fashion Museum then have a relaxing cup of coffee or lunch at a nearby coffee house or eatery.  Conclude the afternoon by creating a fashion of your own at one of our many area retailers and specialty shops.

 

"OVER THE FALLS" Tour
Head to historic downtown Kent for an ice cream cone and a walk along the scenic Cuyahoga River Edge Park and Falls.  End your excursion by stopping in one of the nearby boutiques, restaurants, or pubs along the Franklin Avenue strip.

 

 

 

 

A "TASTE OF PORTAGE" Tour
Begin your
journey with a visit to Mangiamo!, a casual Italian ristorante with a charming outdoor courtyard.  Then visit Viking Vineyards & Winery's cozy, relaxing tasting room, overlooking the lake, where people come to unwind, talk, enjoy the scenery, listen to music, enjoy the art, drink wine and eat. Then sample local and regional microbrews available at Mike's Place.

 

 

 "THE PAST COMES ALIVE" Tour
Begin your day with a trip to the Historic Kelso House, the center of activity in Brimfield since its inception. The house now holds a museum of historical artifacts that are related to Brimfield’s past.  Then head north to the Kent Historical Society located on S. Water Street. Next pass by the Atlantic & Great Western Train Station (Pufferbelly Restaurant), built in 1875. Then visit the historic Marvin Kent Homestead. Erected in 1884, a treasured landmark and tribute to the Kent family where four U.S. Presidents once spent the night.  Finally, head east to the Portage County Historical Society located in Ravenna.

 

 

 

 

"GET EDUCATED" Tour
Established in 1910, Kent State University is one of Ohio's premier universities.  Learn about the history of the institution including the May 4th memorial and the events of that era.  Take a stroll on the inviting campus or take the family to the Student Wellness and Recreation Center (swimming, rock climbing, exercise facilities & more!).

 

"PARK IT" in Portage Tour
Portage County is blessed with an extensive network of parks. Spend some time enjoying the great outdoors. Kent, also known as the original "Tree City U.S.A.", has six picturesque parks and Brimfield features the Town Center and Community Parks (guides are available at the Information Center).  Many have facilities for children.

Kent State University Ice Arena

 

Welcome to the Kent State University Ice Arena web page. The Ice Arena was built in 1970 and contains two ice rinks, one used mostly for recreational skating and another for hockey and figure skating. Located on the campus of Kent State University, the Ice Arena provides many students and the public with two beautiful rinks in one facility. Other services include a Pro Shop with many hockey and figure skating related items as well as KSU apparel, skate sharpening services, and a full service snack bar.
