    Event Description:
    KACC Members are invited to attend the Business After Hours, hosted by Kent State University Libraries, on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 5 – 7 p.m. The event will be held in the University Library’s Garden Room on the first floor, 1125 Risman Drive in Kent.
     
    Join us to hear about University Libraries’ Special Collections and Archives’ important role in the 50th Commemoration of May 4, 1970. Learn about initiatives that ensure the historic events and important materials are being preserved, find out how community members can become involved and view the new exhibit, The Truth Demands Justice: A Snapshot History of the May 4th Task Force.

    Ken Brahanna, Dean of KSU Libraries will open the event with brief remarks and then introduce Cara Gilgenbach who give a 30-minute presentation, followed by an invitation to explore the new exhibit.

    Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. As a professional courtesy, please register to attend by October 14th.

     
    The Special Collections and Archives Department has been a consistent resource of information on the events and aftermath of May 4, 1970, housing more than 300 cubic feet of May 4 materials that have been used for documentaries, projects, academic lessons, exhibits and more. The 50th anniversary of this significant milestone will take place in 2020.
