    Event Description:
Celebrate Constitution Day with Kent State University Libraries
Kent State University Libraries will celebrate Constitution Day with a public reading of two of our nation’s founding documents, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, on Friday, Sept. 16 at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Kent Campus Library on Risman Plaza. In case of rain, the event will take place in the Library’s first floor quiet study area. Everyone is welcome to participate in this recognition of the formation and adoption of the United States Constitution and all citizens. Free pocket editions of the Constitution will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.

Members of Kent State’s Army/Air Force ROTC will open the patriotic event with a color guard presentation. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights will be read in their entirety by students, faculty and staff from the university community and members of the general public. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided. During the event, the Friends of University Libraries will collect worn-out American flags for proper retirement. At the conclusion of the reading, cake and refreshments will be served.
