Kent International Festival

On Saturday, September 7, the Run the World 5K will take place at Kent State University https://www.kent.edu/RunTheWorld/run-world-kent. The race is a fundraiser for the Run the World Fund, which provides scholarships for study abroad programs through the university. In collaboration with Main Street Kent, an International Festival will take place in downtown Kent after the fifth annual Run the World 5K race.

From 11am to 4pm, live multi-cultural performances will be featured at the Dan Smith Community Park and many downtown businesses will participate in a Passport Excursion, offering activities and food/beverage samples from the countries they choose to represent during the event. Passports will be available for purchase for $5 at “Customs” in the Dan Smith Community Park that day; race participants will receive complementary passports in their race day packets. Passport Excursion participants will receive a stamp for each passport destination visited. The first one hundred passport holders to return to “Customs” with their completed passports will receive a prize.
