Mental health challenges – such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders– are common in the United States. In fact, more than one in five American adults will have a mental health problem in any given year. Coleman Professional Services and the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County provide Mental Health First Aid courses to prepare the community members with the knowledge and skills to help individuals who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training teaches the participants to better identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses. It is valuable training for receptionists, customer service representatives, salespeople – anyone who interfaces with the public!
The next Mental Health First Aid class will be held on October 14 and Oct 16 from 8am-noon each day.
The cost is $25 and includes the workbook, training materials, and a continental breakfast each day.
