present "WannaBe Singer” ( The Musical That Almost Wasn't)
An Original Two Act Play written by the students of The New World Children's Theatre - A World Premiere!
PLOT: Eleanore MacIntyre has decided to move her family from the country to the city. She's a single mom who is doing her best to raise 16 year old Kyle, a rock and roller, 13 year old Saylor, a wannabe singer, and 3 year old Serenity, a demon child. As part of the move, Eleanore decides they should adopt a cat, even though Kyle would much prefer a pitbull. They stop in a Cat Cafe and Serenity immediately starts grabbing cats by the tails. Employee Justin tries to intervene, but alas he ends up angering Serenity and as a result, he is fired from his job. From there, the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, and we are led on a wild ride as the MacIntyre's try to adjust to their new home in the city. Will Kyle ever be allowed to adopt a pitbull? What becomes of the cat that they finally adopt? Will Saylor burn down their new apartment as she tries to heat up Serenity's egg drop soup? And will Saylor ever get a chance to realize her dream of becoming a singer?
