Coleman Health Services, formerly Coleman Professional Services (CPS), is a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community. We are seeking a Family Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support services as a member of the Portage County Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) Team. The family peer support specialist provides guidance, hope and support towards recovery through personal experience and growth on a reciprocal basis.
• Mentor and assist youth and families through mental health crises and restore calm within the family
• Assist in identifying resources, supports and services based on youth and family needs
• Work collaboratively with other members of the MRSS team to further support youth and families throughout the stabilization and transition phases
• Function as part of an interdisciplinary team and develop and maintain effective relationships with community professionals
Candidates will have lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child who has been involved with behavioral healthcare services, have and maintain an excellent driving record, and have at least a high school diploma. Preferred candidates will also hold a peer support certification through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
