The Portage Park District has completed a Final Draft of the Comprehensive Parks Master Plan to guide the District and its use of levy funds over the next ten years. Led by planning consultant Brandstetter Carroll, Inc., the Master Plan project has included public input through a variety of ways to determine the needs and opportunities for parks, trails and programs across the county. The project also involved the creation of conceptual park plans to identify appropriate uses and facilities for over 1,000 acres of Park District lands in ten areas that have not yet been opened to the public.
The format of the community meeting will include a power point presentation with highlights of the plan, as well as maps and informational boards. Comment forms will be available as well as binders of the Master Plan.
The Portage Park District’s mission is to conserve Portage County’s natural heritage and provide opportunities for its appreciation and enjoyment. For more information call (330) 297-7728 or visit
